Lauryn Hill, who belonged to 90s hip-hop trio The Fugees, will release her first solo song in five years.
Unfortunately, no explicit details have been given out about the new track, except for the fact that it will be a part of the soundtrack to Melina Matsoukas and Lena Waithe’s new Bonnie and Clyde-inspired film Queen & Slim, which will also include music from Megan Thee Stallion, Vince Staples, Lil Baby and more.
Her last official release was the 2014 single, Black Rage (Sketch). The powerful track was dedicated to activists in Ferguson, Missouri fighting for racial equality after the gruesome murder of Michael Brown.
The mother of 6 made her official return to the music scene with a guest feature on Pusha T’s new 2019 track, Coming Home, which was produced by rapper Kanye West.
Queen & Slim: The Soundtrack will be released on November 15 via Motown Records.
