Jennifer Lopez’ stripper film ‘Hustlers’ banned in Egypt and Malaysia

The film’s theme is about scheming strippers and has been banned in Malaysia due to its excessive obscene content.

Malaysia’s film censorship board said Hustlers’ bared breasts, erotic dances and scenes featuring drugs made it “not suitable for public screening”.

The ban was confirmed on social media by Square Box Pictures, the company distributing Hustlers in Malaysia.

In Hustlers, a group of exotic dancers set out to fleece their wealthy clients. It is based on a true story and was inspired by a 2015 New York Magazine article that went viral.

The film, which also stars Keke Palmer, Julia Stiles Lili Reinhart, Constance Wu and Cardi B is currently making waves in both the US and UK box office charts.

Lopez also stated that the pole dancing role was the ‘hardest thing’ for her.

The film also received bans in Samoa, Egypt and the Cook Islands; while scenes were removed from it in Russia.
