Chaka Demus & Pliers – Murder She Wrote/Bam Bam

Chaka Demus & Pliers Murder She Wrote/Bam Bam:

Prolific Jamaican reggae duo of Chaka Demus (Disc Jockey) and singer Pliers recorded ragga-hip hop song Murder She Wrote in 1992, which would later turn out to be an evergreen classic. Island Record’s Mango Records label released the song as a single that same year in 12” Vinyl format.

Bam Bam was housed on the B-side of the vinyl-single but unlike Murder She Wrote, was performed by Pliers alone. The song’s instrumental Riddim was arranged by Jamaican rhythm section and production duo Sly & Robbie.

Bam Bam samples Toots and The Maytals’ 1966 song of the same name. Jamaican Dancehall Disc Jockey and singer Sister Nancy also recorded a well-known version in 1993.
